On Wednesday, December 19, 2007, the ADC Michigan "Kids Club" will host its 8th Annual Celebration of Diversity. Every year, in the spirit of the Holiday Season, ADC works to provide children with gifts to promote diversity and share in the spirit of giving. This year, ADC volunteers will distribute gift certificates and goody bags, donated by generous sponsors to the winning classes in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades at a local elementary School. The contest asks classes to design a “Unity Collage,” depicting diversity and the celebration of the many holidays this season. It is ADC’s hope that this event will, not only provide children with a happy holiday season, but will also promote the message of unity and understanding in the post 9/11 era.
Last year, gift bags were distributed to all participants at Geer Park Elementary. The three winning classes (one from each grade) were awarded gift cards from last year’s corporate partners, Wal-Mart and CVS Pharmacy.
ADC Michigan expresses its great appreciation to its 2006 Diversity Partners, CVS Pharmacy and Wal-Mart and to the other sponsors who contributed to the success of this unique ceremony: LIFE for Relief and Development, the Pepsi Bottling Group, Coca Cola, Frito Lay and the US Army National Guard.
Those interested in taking part in this year’s event on December 19 are welcome to participate and donate. Deadline for participation is December 15. For more information, email Mariam Habhab at mhabhab@adc.org. |
