The Rosa and Raymond Parks Institute to Co-Host the 13th Annual MLK Scholarship Awards Reception:
ADC Michigan and the American-Arab Center for Civil and Human Rights (ACCHR) is pleased to announce that the Rosa and Raymond Parks Institute will co-host the 13th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Awards Reception in Dearborn on Friday, February 10, 2012. Through this annual program, ADC Michigan carries the message of Dr. King to the communities of Metro Detroit while promoting higher education. The 13th anniversary of the ADC Michigan MLK Scholarship Awards Reception is expected to be a remarkable occasion which embraces our rich diversity as we enter 2012 with further determination to advance the cause of civil rights in America.

ADC is Seeking Nominations for Educator of the Year:
Each year at the Martin Luther King Jr. Awards Reception, ADC honors a teacher with the Educator of the Year award. We are currently seeking nominations for this prestigious award. To submit your nomination, please send the name of the nominee and a short description of why you believe they should be honored with the award to adcmichigan@adc.org. Nominations are due no later than January 17, 2012.
MLK Scholarship Essays Submission Deadline January 17, 2012:
As the only program in Michigan that works to bring together the Arab and African American communities, ADC hopes to expand the MLK Scholarship Program and work towards continuing to provide educational support to more students in the State of Michigan. The MLK Scholarship Planning Committee has mailed out fliers to area high schools, announcing the criteria for writing an essay that should explain what the message of Martin Luther King means to each participating student. Students can obtain information from their school counselors, through the ADC website, ADC Michigan, or call the ADC Office at 313.581.1201. The deadline for student essay submissions is Tuesday, January 17, 2012 by 5pm.
