Civil Rights is Our Passion:

We are about to bid a farewell to the year 2012 and welcome 2013 with vigor, vitality and a renewed sense of commitment with passionate energy to protect, preserve and maintain our civil rights and our civil liberties.

ADC Michigan would like to extend its sincere appreciation and indebtedness to all those who believe in ADC and who have supported its mission.  For many years ADC has been the voice against discrimination, prejudice, profiling and unfair practices that negate the values of our precious American history. It has been the vital ingredient in building bridges of understanding, mutual respect and acceptance of our community’s rich diversity.

As we reflect on the year in review, and reflect on ADC’s history in fighting discrimination wherever it occurs, it is evident that ADC has been the most instrumental tool in championing the protection of Civil Rights, Human Rights and Civil Liberties not only in the Arab and Muslim American communities but for our communities in general. 

·         The Beginning:  Since its inception in 1980, ADC for 32 years has maintained its stature as the premier civil rights organization and largest grassroots effort fighting against discrimination and preserving the rights of Arab Americans across the country. ADC Michigan upon its inception over 16 years ago has been at the forefront and has produced and implemented countless programs and initiatives to address the many issues that have faced our community in these challenging and extremely demanding times. 

·         Cases:  An excess of 600 cases and complaints of discrimination, profiling, unfair employment practices filed from a wide variety of entities and individuals was brought to the ADC Michigan Regional Office in 2012.  With its limited staff and resources, ADC Michigan has addressed every case and has either remedied the issue or has collaborated with the appropriate entity to reach a solution.  In its 16 year history, ADC Michigan has addressed at least 9000 cases of discrimination with commitment, determination and a passion for results.
