ADC Commemorates Eighth Anniversary of September 11
The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) joins the nation and millions of people worldwide in marking the eighth anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. ADC remembered the day by observing a coordinated moment of silence with its offices in Washington, Boston, New Jersey, and Michigan.

“As we commemorate the 8th Anniversary of September 11, the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) in Michigan joins our fellow Americans and our nation in expressing best wishes to those who lost loved ones in the tragedy, and reminds everyone about the importance of unity during this time, so as to honor those who lost their lives, and help strengthen our nation,” said ADC Regional Director, Imad Hamad.

Today, ADC Michigan will participate in a special event entitled “America Engages the World: A Public Forum on the International Role of the United States” at Eastern Michigan University. ADC Michigan’s Director of Policy and Community Affairs, Nadia Fadel, will present a breakout session that will focus on the “Issues and Perception of Arab-Americans post 911.” U.S. Ambassador Thomas Miller, President and CEO for the United Nations Association of the United States of America (UNA-USA) will discuss “The Foreign Policy Agenda of the Obama Administration.” The daylong event will bring together students, academics, professionals, organizations, and community leaders to discuss the foreign policy of the U.S. The program will also focus on what citizens can do to foster positive U.S. international engagement and to contribute to a more just and peaceful world. To read more, visit: Eastern Michigan University.
